Deadline for nonprofit organizations to file information returns (Form 990) for the year 2019. This deadline applies to organizations with a calendar year-end. If your year-end falls in another month, click here to see the corresponding deadline.
NOTE: In a normal year (where we are not dealing with a pandemic), the filing date is May 15 and the IRS automatically grants a 6-month extension for 990 filings, upon timely submission of such request. Accordingly, for organizations with a calendar fiscal year that seek such extension by the initial due date of May 15, the filing deadline will effectively change to November 16 (since November 15 falls on a weekend in 2020). Although the revised due date for filing in 2020 is July 15, the extension date may not go beyond November 16, 2020.
