Matie Ohms Recognized in Moody on the Market 40 Under 40

Kruggel Lawton is pleased to announce that Senior Staff Accountant, Matie Ohms, has been selected as one of the Moody on the Market 40 Under 40 recipients for 2020. Now in just its third year, the program is reserved exclusively for 40 of southwest Michigan's professionals under the age of 40.

Matie joined the Kruggel Lawton staff full time back in 2016 planning and performing audits of local units of government, privately held companies and nonprofit entities. Since then she has risen in the ranks from staff accountant, to senior staff accountant in 2018.

Today Matie's focused area of service to KLients include consulting on various business accounting matters - including individual, corporate, partnership, and property tax planning and preparation. While her roles in the firm have changed, one thing that has not is Matie's willingness to be a true team player. She has always shown an interest in doing whatever she can do to help support her fellow team members and her KLients.

"We are thrilled that Matie has been recognized with the 40 Under 40 award for 2020," said Partner Dave Schaffer. "She is a valuable member of our Kruggel Lawton staff in St. Joseph. She has not only been a valued member of our tax team providing great service to our KLients but she's has taken a leadership role within various community service projects Kruggel Lawton actively participates in, along with being a member of local Kiwanis club – Congratulations Matie!"

Matie lends her time and talents to her community by serving as a member of the St. Joseph-Benton Harbor Kiwanis and is active as a young professional who regularly attends Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber YP events. Her community service also includes an advisor role at St. Joseph High School Key Club.

Matie received Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN.
