Kruggel Lawton Tax Consultant Accepts Teaching Position at Saint Mary’s College

While Jeff McGowan, CPA, CGMA, may have transitioned from Tax Partner to Tax Consultant in 2016, his relationship with Kruggel Lawton CPAs has remained strong. We are thrilled to share that our long-time colleague has accepted a new position as Senior Lecturer at Saint Mary’s College.

Jeff’s experience in higher education includes 12 years as an adjunct professor in the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business Master of Science in Accountancy program and six years as an assistant professor at Trine University where he taught undergraduate and MBA accounting as well as tax courses.

“We are fortunate to have someone like Jeff teaching the future generations of accountants,” said Barry Hall, Managing Partner of Kruggel Lawton. “His passion for the profession is clear in the time and energy he dedicates to his students, as well as the relationships he’s maintained throughout his 30-year career with the firm.”

Presently, three of Jeff's former students work at Kruggel Lawton - Ethan Kirkman, Tyler Beasy, and Savannah Sipka.  “I hope I can steer many more students to Kruggel Lawton, as I still strongly feel that it is the best CPA firm," said Jeff. "If you want a place that combines a great mix of clients, comradery, ethics, and strong family values, KL is the way to go!"

Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society, for which he previously chaired the Tax Resource Advisory Council. His community involvement includes serving as board treasurer for the Family & Children’s Center, Inc., and the Lifetime Education and Research Network (LEARN), as well as a member of the Family & Children’s Services Board of Directors.
