Patrick Lee Joins 2019 Class of Michiana Forty Under 40

Kruggel Lawton is pleased to announce that Partner Patrick Lee, CPA has been selected as one of the Michiana Forty Under 40 for 2019 by the South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce. The program shines a spotlight on 40 of the area's most talented and dedicated young executives, professionals, and leaders who demonstrate career success and community engagement before the age of 40.

Lee has quickly established himself as a trusted leader at Kruggel Lawton since joining the firm's Elkhart office in 2011. He is committed to developing strong, meaningful relationships with his clients and is recognized by his coworkers for exhibiting the admirable characteristics of a CPA: integrity, honesty, professionalism, service, and a compassion for others.

He helped develop a niche practice area at the firm in fiduciary tax services, which focuses on trust and estate tax compliance and estate planning. His actions have directly contributed to the firm’s growth, which has doubled in sized over the past five years. In January 2018, at the age of 32, Patrick was named a partner at Kruggel Lawton.

"It’s a rare feat to become partner at a public accounting firm at such a young age," said Managing Partner Barry Hall. "Patrick exhibited the traits looked for in a partner, is driven to grow the practice, and he exemplifies the firm’s values. His character shows through in how he handles himself professionally, and he is well equipped to be an effective leader now and in the future."

Patrick lends his time and talents to his community, serving on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County and the board of directors of Elkhart Christian Academy. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Goshen and invests in the youth there by serving as a youth leader.

In the midst of his personal and professional growth, Lee has also found ways to give back to his alma mater, Grace College.

“While Patrick has achieved professional and personal success by reaching the partner level at a CPA firm at a relatively young age,” says Grace Professor of Accounting Dr. Roger Stichter, “he has always been willing to give back to Grace by visiting accounting classes and events to speak to current accounting students. I tremendously value Patrick's continued engagement in what is happening at Grace and his vision for encouraging more students to consider a career in accounting.”

In addition to what's already been mentioned, Lee has the following achievements and recognition:

With everything he has going on, Lee makes sure to prioritize the most important people in his life at home, his wife Ruth and their four children, Lydia, Caleb, Rachel, and Selah.

Lee received Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Administration & Statistics from Grace College, Winona Lake, Ind. His professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society.

The 2019 Class of Michiana Forty Under 40 will be recognized at a luncheon being held in their honor on Thursday, May 23, 2019. Luncheon details, registration, and the complete list of this year's honorees can be found on the Forty Under 40 website.
