Kruggel Lawton Wins Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce Award

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. – The Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce presented Kruggel Lawton with the Pat Moody Award at their annual Business Recognition Breakfast on Thursday, February 15. The award, created in honor of media personality and community leader Pat Moody, is given to a business or individual that has staying power, provides great customer service, and is involved in the community.

Key factors in the selection of Kruggel Lawton for this award include:

• A presence in the St. Joseph/Benton Harbor community for over 40 years under the names of McMurray, Marks & Edmunds and later Schaffer & Layher;
• Supporter of key community events such as the St. Joseph 4th of July fireworks show and the Krasl Art Fair, as well as area nonprofit organizations and youth activities;
• And living out the firm's values of integrity and excellence by being accessible and always responsive to the needs of clients.

Kruggel Lawton's St. Joseph partners Dave Schaffer and Mike Layher accepted the award stating,

"Our generation learned the lessons of community and customer service from the leaders who came before us. They were great mentors to us and we are focused on continuing that tradition. The award announcement was made by the 2017 inaugural winner Dave Costas, general manager at Silver Beach Pizza Co. Other nominees for this year's Pat Moody Award included Dr. Flood's Vision Center and JohnsonRauhoff.
