Kruggel Lawton Hosts Entrepreneurship Week Seminar Series

JUNE 4, 2015 -- In February, Indiana Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann announced details for the 2015 Indiana Entrepreneurship Week (#INEWK) which will take place June 14-20 as a way to recognize efforts of entrepreneurs throughout Indiana. The Indiana Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (OSBE) is the organization leading the charge.

With nearly 495,000 small businesses across the state of Indiana employing almost 1.2 million Hoosiers, entrepreneurship in Indiana is growing. Kruggel Lawton CPAs wants to be a part of this great movement by igniting the spark for those who are passionate about owning their own business. We’ve created a series of seminars geared towards small business owners, small business supporters, and aspiring entrepreneurs as part of Indiana Entrepreneurship Week.

Entrepreneur Essentials
You have a great idea. Now what? Learn the steps it will take to get your next big idea off and running. Partner Kevin Kruggel, CPA, CGMA, will discuss important pieces to include in your business plan, forming your entrepreneurial team of professional service advisors, deciding which legal entity (LLC, C Corporation, S Corporation) makes sense for you, and the basics of financial record keeping for new businesses.

Introduction to QuickBooks
Interested in learning the basics of bookkeeping with QuickBooks accounting software? QuickBooks ProAdvisors Elizabeth Stull and Jill Replogle will introduce you to the various versions of QuickBooks and explain the associated costs/benefits of each. They will also walk you through the steps to set up your QuickBooks company and show you how to use the most common modules, print and decipher reports, and prepare for tax reporting.

Tax Tips for Start-Ups and Small Businesses
Taxes can be a scary thing for all business owners – but they don’t have to be. Tax Partner Jeff McGowan, CPA, CGMA, will discuss taxes for new and small businesses, including what you need to know for sales tax and withholding. Learn techniques to maximize business deductions, important tax rules that can save tax dollars, and even federal and state entrepreneurial tax credits available for start-ups and Research and Development (R&D).
