Doug Osthimer Retires as Partner After 32 Years

Kruggel Lawton CPAs is delighted to announce that Douglas K. Osthimer, CPA, CVA, CGMA has retired from a Partner role in the firm and will continue in a newly-created role as Director of Valuation Services. As Director of Business Valuation Services, Doug will continue to lead engagements to determine the value of businesses for buy/sell agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation matters. Scott Dawson, CPA, CVA, MBA, also a Director in the firm, will join Doug and other staff members in meeting clients’ valuation needs throughout the communities in which Kruggel Lawton serves.

After joining the firm in 1988, Doug became a Partner in 1990. He has helped grow the firm and contributes to the success of numerous companies and also charitable organizations in the South Bend region. In addition to advising and serving clients on a wide range of business issues, Doug has developed and leads the firm’s business valuation practice, earning a reputation for excellence among the region’s legal community.

Doug has a B.S. degree from Purdue University, and his active professional credentials include Certified Public Accountant; Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA); and Certified Global Management Accountant. He has been actively involved in a diverse array of community organizations, including River Bend Cancer Services; The Music Village; Big Brothers/Big Sisters; WVPE and others. Doug is also well-known and appreciated for his auctioneering services at fundraising events.

Scott Dawson joined Kruggel Lawton in December 2019 with over twenty years of public accounting/consulting and CFO experience in technology and manufacturing companies. In addition to his CPA and CVA certifications, Scott also has a B.S. in Accountancy from Marquette University; an MBA from the University of Maryland; and a Master’s in Accountancy from Michigan State University.
