The Kruggel Lawton team will be dressing down to raise money for two different charities. The South Bend office will be raising money for Heartland Small Animal Rescue and Elkhart will raise money for Church Community Services. Employees will pay $5 to wear jeans and an additional $10 to wear tennis shoes. A matching contribution for all donations will be made by Kruggel Lawton at the end of the day. So, if you’re stopping by our offices on March 13, don’t be surprised if we look a little more casual than usual.

Jeans Day for Charity happens one Friday a month during "busy season" January 1-April 15. In January, employees nominate charities they would like to be the recipient of funds raised. Four charities are drawn in each office for a total of 8 local organizations benefiting from Jeans Day for Charity.

About Heartland Small Animal Rescue, Inc.

Heartland is a non-profit, 501(c)3 rescue based in South Bend, Indiana. They focus their rescue efforts on companion animals that are scheduled for euthanasia in local shelters. They rely heavily on a network of volunteers and fosters to provide love and care to animals until they find forever homes.

About Church Community Services

Church Community Services (CCS) was incorporated by local church leaders in 1968 to pool resources and more effectively address issues faced by Elkhart County people in need. The first services offered were children’s clubs and camping, emergency loans and gifts, help finding jobs, and home repairs. A food pantry was added in 1971. Then their popular Soup of Success program, a job and life skills training program for women, was created in 1997. Seed to Feed was created in 2012 to provide homegrown solutions to local hunger. Today CCS has 25 paid staff and utilizes nearly 200 volunteers. They are supported by over 50 churches and serve over 2,200 families every month.
