EXPERIENCE

• Planning and research of tax issues related to organizational structure options in acquiring and selling businesses, including analyzing various appropriate elections
• Represent clients before IRS, state and local taxing authorities related to compliance audits and appeals
• Perform research for tax issues and planning issues related to tax return preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary and nonprofit entities
• Final review of staff-prepared returns including individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary and nonprofit returns
• Managed the day-to-day activity of various trusts administered by the University of Notre Dame that had assets totaling more than $80,000,000. Additionally, prepared the fiduciary tax returns for the simple, complex and charitable remainder trusts on an annual basis, including calculating any required payouts for the upcoming year

INTERESTS

Jim and his wife enjoy spending time with their 15 (soon to be 16) grandchildren. Jim also enjoys cooking for holiday family barbecues. He is an avid golfer and loves passing his skills and knowledge down to his grandchildren and youth attending local junior camps.
