The Value of Professional Involvement

Several Kruggel Lawton colleagues and I recently had the opportunity to participate in the 100th anniversary celebration of the Indiana CPA Society. Over 800 CPAs and their guests came together to celebrate the successes and beneficial impact of the accounting profession in Indiana for the past 100 years. It was a wonderful time to reflect on how far we’ve come and how bright the future is for the accounting profession. You can see for yourself in this INCPAS 100th anniversary video:

Among the highlights of the event were recognition of individuals for professional achievements. Kruggel Lawton’s very own Michelle Chupp, Mike Reed, and Nick Mitchell were all recognized for recently passing the CPA exam.

We were particularly delighted to see our friend and client, Jim Fulton, Director and CFO at Graham-Allen Partners, receive the Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry Award. Jim has played a large role in helping launch three start-up companies which have created 35 tech jobs here in Northern Indiana.

When it comes to professional involvement, CPAs are not unique. Many of the business clients with whom we work are very active in their professional and industry groups. From foundry, machining and tooling, home-building, medical societies and trade groups, professional memberships foster valuable knowledge-sharing, relationship-building, and other beneficial outcomes.

To stay on top of technical issues to serve our clients, most of Kruggel Lawton’s professionals are members of the Indiana CPA Society, as well as the American Institute of CPAs. Our people participate in CPA Society board meetings, emerging leaders groups, professional education programs, and other activities to benefit ourselves, our clients, and the communities in which we serve.

We salute everyone who participates in similar organizations for similar reasons. Kruggel Lawton is committed to the accounting profession and will continue to actively participate in order to further our mission:

Continuously design, develop, and deliver services that help our clients achieve their goals. We do this through ongoing investments in relationships, knowledge, skills, and experience that enhance our position as trusted advisors within our communities.
