The Kruggel Lawton Culture

It’s Like Family Here
In a recent questionnaire, we asked KL team members to tell us their favorite thing about working here. This wasn’t multiple choice – they could write whatever they wanted. An overwhelming 70 percent said (in one way or another) that it was their co-workers and the feeling of being part of a family that they enjoy most.

Josh Brown, a manager who started out as an intern in 2014, put it best when he said:

“I absolutely love the atmosphere at Kruggel Lawton. I think that’s the biggest reason why I decided to accept a full time position. People genuinely care about each other and that means a lot.”

And from Jeannine Honderich, senior staff accountant:

I honestly wake up happy to come to work every day because of the awesome group of people that I am so blessed to get to work with. Thank you all for giving me a wonderful family to spend my workday with.

Finding Balance
The second most popular response was related to the flexible environment we have that promotes work-life balance. Our partners are a big reason for that. Early in their careers they realized that a life on the road wasn’t for them. They had young families and wanted to be around for soccer games, birthday parties, doctor appointments, and milestone events. They also wanted to be able to give back to their community. Not only did they make that possible for themselves, they made sure it was available to each member of the KL staff. Recognition like “Best Places to Work” and the Samaritan Award are proof that we live out our value of balance.

Work Hard, Play Hard
Kruggel Lawton has a culture we can all be proud of and, just as important, have fun working in. If you think an accounting firm must be filled with quiet, boring people, you haven’t met us yet! We’ve got “Partner in a Pub” during busy season, a rockin’ party on April 15, CPA Day of Service, 5K and 10K teams in Sunburst, Bike to Work Week, an annual holiday party, a summer outing for the whole family and MORE!

While we like to have fun, our number one priority is to serve our clients. Each day we are reminded of our mission: “Continuously design, develop, and deliver services that help our clients achieve their goals. We do this through ongoing investments in relationships, knowledge, skills and experience that enhance our position as trusted advisors within our communities.” Our core values of Respect, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity, and Balance help further drive the way we do business.
